If you’ve ever gotten an alert from your map urging you to try another route, you probably understand how inconvenient it can be. In fact, map directions have even sometimes proven to be unsafe. According to the Guardian, in 2010, a pedestrian sued Google after she claimed that the application gave her unsafe directions. The woman’s personal injury lawyers believed that Google has a duty to warn pedestrians that certain routes may not be safe.
